Soil moisture analytics

  • DHI has developed a novel method for determining soil moisture as Volumetric Water Content
  • Volumetric Water Content from Agri360 can be used to drive decisions on irrigation by knowing when a crop is close to wielding point.
  • With forecasted Wolumetric Water Content farmers can irrigate in due time to avoid plants reaching wilting point.

Volumetric soil water content is the volume of water per unit volume of soil and can be used to assess if a parcel is at field capacity or at wilting point or in between the two extremes.

There are two types of products:

  • Irrigation demand in mm
(Based on actual and potential evapotranspiration)
  • Volumetric soil water as the volume of water per unit volume of soil. Volumetric soil moisture information can be used to assess if a parcel is at field capacity or at wilting point or in between the two extremes

Tire Pressure Monitor [TPM]

A solution for agriculture machine operators, the Tire Pressure Monitor, delivers both ground moisture data and a forecast soil moisture data, so that tractor operators can optimally adjust their tire pressure to avoid soil compaction. The MIKE powered by DHI hydrological model MIKE SHE conglomerates weather, soil and evaporation data into a report that provides users with information about the optimal operation time and extent. Avoid soil compaction and save money on fuel costs.

  • Machine specifications and soil characteristics are user-defined
  • A cloud, web-based solution that supports operators in the field and in between
  • API coupling via Nevonex or through another API extension
